As part of Bilcare's strategy to provide its customers with comprehensive services that span the entire clinical supply chain, Bilcare Global Clinical Supplies, a leading single-source provider of clinical trial supplies and services, has enhanced its clinical trials packaging capabilities.  Both the US site in Phoenixville, PA as well as the UK site in Crickhowell have invested in the Pentapack CT1200L system.

The Pentapack CT1200L system allows both companies to package low as well as high-volume runs for phase I, II or III clinical trials and stability tests.

The CT1200L system allows them to design blister packaging configurations online using Trialpack Designer II packaging design software, and immediately implement for production. The machine can produce thermoformed and cold-formed blisters from a variety of materials and features multi-product specific dosing system as well as a flood feed system. The vision system checks the content of blisters and verifies accurate product placement after each dosing step and before sealing. A programmable cutting station provides the flexibility to meet specific customer demands and match all pharmaceutical standards. The system’s automation significantly reduces manufacturing times and creates a 21 CFR Part 11-compliant electronic paper trail that documents changes from design to production through quality control.
